Setup

🎤 Voice Chat

Simple Voice Chat mod and Discord bridge for all players

What is Simple Voice Chat?

Simple Voice Chat is a Minecraft mod that adds proximity-based voice chat to the game. Players can talk to each other in-game based on how close they are to each other - just like real life! The further away someone is, the quieter they sound.

✓ Included by default:

  • NoHopeLauncher: Simple Voice Chat is pre-installed - voice chat works directly in-game!
  • Prism Launcher: The modpack includes Simple Voice Chat - no setup needed!

If you're using either of these launchers, you can use voice chat right away without any additional configuration!

💡 How it works: Press and hold a key (default: V) to talk. Your voice will be heard by nearby players, and you'll hear them too. The distance affects volume, creating a natural conversation experience!

👥 Voice Chat Groups:

Simple Voice Chat supports voice chat groups, allowing you to create private or semi-private channels for specific players:

  • Normal groups: Group members can hear nearby players outside the group, but outsiders can't hear group members
  • Open groups: Everyone can hear everyone - group members and nearby players can all communicate
  • Isolated groups: Only group members can hear each other - perfect for private conversations

Groups can be password-protected and can be made persistent (they stay even when all members leave). Use /voicechat group commands to manage groups!

Simple Voice Chat Discord Bridge

Our server uses the Simple Voice Chat Discord Bridge plugin, which lets players without the Simple Voice Chat mod join in on voice chat through Discord.

Who needs this?

  • Bedrock Edition players (console, mobile, PC Bedrock)
  • Vanilla Minecraft Java Edition players

✓ NoHopeLauncher & Prism users: You already have the Simple Voice Chat mod installed - voice chat works directly in-game!

Available Commands

All Discord bridge commands start with /dvc:

/dvc start

Starts a voice chat session using the first available bot. Wait a few seconds, then join the Discord voice channel as instructed.

/dvc stop

Stops your current voice chat session and disconnects the bot from Discord.

/dvc group

Manage voice chat groups. Available subcommands:

  • /dvc group list - Lists all available groups
  • /dvc group create <name> [password] [type] [persistent] - Creates a new group
  • /dvc group join <ID> - Joins a group using its ID
  • /dvc group info - Shows information about your current group
  • /dvc group leave - Leaves your current group
  • /dvc group remove <ID> - Removes a persistent group

Group Types: normal, open, or isolated

/dvc togglewhisper

Toggles whisper mode on or off for your voice chat.

How It Works

  1. Use the /dvc start command in-game to start a voice chat session
  2. Join the Discord voice channel as instructed by the bot (join our Discord server if you haven't already)
  3. You'll be able to hear players speaking in-game, and they'll be able to hear you through Discord
  4. Use /dvc stop when you're done to disconnect

Quick Start Guide

  1. Make sure you're in our Discord server
  2. Join the game on any platform (Bedrock console/mobile/PC, or vanilla Java Edition)
  3. Type /dvc start in the chat
  4. Wait a few seconds for the bot to connect
  5. Join the Discord voice channel as instructed
  6. Start talking! Other players will hear you, and you'll hear them

Note: The number of bots available determines how many people can use voice chat through Discord at the same time. If you get an error saying no bots are available, wait a moment and try again.

🔗 Geyser Account Linking
